Well, we signed up for the ISV Program, and got tons of auto-emails about resources available to us. The Partner Portal turns out to have links and tutorials and everything you’ll need — except how to get your ISV Agreement signed. After waiting a week or so, we tried logging a Case to get our CRM org (we figured, heck, maybe we “signed it” and didn’t even notice). Nope. The Case got auto-closed because the “CRM org is only for signed partners”. The good news? Our ISV Account Exec name and email address were included in the Case comments.
Now we’re getting somewhere. Send an email to the AE….. nothing.
In the meantime, we have been able to set up all our test orgs and our Partner Development org. Here’s a tip from a fellow ISV Developer at Dreamforce: When you set up your test orgs, use the same email address for all your “user” account logins, but change the login to have a code at the end. So, for example, I would login to our ‘Enterprise Edition” test org as firstname.lastname@example.org and login to our “Professional Edition” test org as ‘email@example.com.
Now that we have the test orgs and development orgs in place, we just need to tie them all together. That would require, you guessed it, a CRM org. Still no word from our AE, so we tried the low-tech approach — sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a politely worded “please help”.
Stay tuned for what happens next
